Moving the goalposts
A group of unnamed European clubs, thought to include Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich, is rumoured to have enlisted the help of none other than Michel Platini to deal with the dominance of English clubs in the Champions League. Under the name SCAM (Stuff Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United), the consortium is looking to introduce a rule change that would mean that English teams would have to defend a goal, which is 2 feet wider than teams from other countries. It is understood that Platini was unsympathetic with the consortium at first, but has been persuaded since it has been agreed that French teams would defend goals 2 metres smaller. Further, teams from smaller nations such as Latvia would defend goals 1 foot wide, but this has caused furore as the Latvian FA is pressing for goals of 6 inches wide. A team of management consultants has now been approached to look at the logistics of moving goals at half time. FootballCynic will keep you up to date with the news,of course.

You are confusing SCAM with CHLAMYDIA (CHelsea Liverpool Arsenal Manchester - Your Domination Is Abhorent). (FootballCynic writes: Thanks for the post Boormaster Bryan. Did you google Soccer Cynic to find this website?).

The EPL starts at 5th ranking for me - that's why I support Aston Villa so much. Your website goes right down to the smallest teams that presumably play park soccer - I mean football.

Lady Knobhead and I were doing our customary Sunday read of the broadsheets when we took a short break to look at your latest offerings. Lady Knobhead pointed out that foreign teams are not shown in bold whereas English - or is it British? - teams are shown in bold. I can help here you as I can have a word to ensure that the European Commission doesnt censure you for this and impose some god almighty fine on you. Shall I have a word in the right place tomorrow? (FootballCynic writes: Thank you for the offer, Lord Knobhead. Anything that keeps the wheels turning would be helpful to the team here at FootballCynic HQ. To answer your question, it is just English teams - and not the national team - that are shown in bold. So, you get Rochdale, Accrington Stanley, Leiston St Margarets and even Berwick Rangers in bold, but not Arbroath, Bayern Munich or Finland.)
