Ever met an Everton fan?

FootballCynic does his fair share of gallivanting around the world achieving a carbon footprint as big as Chelsea’s annual loss. One of the topics you can’t avoid is to find out what team the people you meet support. Of course, in countries like Malaysia, taxi drivers, having established you are English, follow this without failure with the line ‘You must support Manchester United’. Er, no thanks.

Besides meeting supporters of the big four on a regular basis, it is surprising how often you meet people who support the less fashionable – Grimsby Town, Barnet, Bournemouth, Crewe Alexandra to name a few FootballCynic met recently in Manila.

In another bar one night with 8-10 football fans who barely knew each other, we compared notes and found that we had met a good mixture of supporters between us. However, no one had ever met an Everton supporter. Do they not travel outside Liverpool? The supporters of the other team (we don’t mean Tranmere Rovers here) are to be seen everywhere around the world. But, have you ever met an Everton fan abroad? The search is on. And while we’re at it, has anyone ever met a Fulham fan abroad?

Regretfully I have met some blues and abroad as well. They will never win in Madrid. (FootballCynic writes: I did try to paraphrase your second sentence, but it didn't sound quite right! By the way, have you considered renaming yourself Torresplaysforachange?)
