Outrage at Pease Pottage Village FC as Platini speaks out
As one ex-player in the unusual shape of Diego Maradona makes the news, another ex-player continues to outrage English clubs that are accused of buying their way to the top with money they don't have. In a scathing attack on Pease Pottage Village FC, UEFA President, Michel Platini, infuriated supporters by saying that teams like PPVFC were ruining football by the spending sprees. The Sussex County League Division 3 side has rocketed up the table this season, having spent £200 on a new urinal, a new set of corner flags and brought in at least 3 new players, rumoured to be earning substantially above the league average. The move by Platini is thought to be part of a wider plan to give French teams a goal start in all European games and to reduce English sides to nine men in an attempt to bring some balance back to the premier stage of European football. Meanwhile, Rochdale, have pulled out of their attempt to lure top Brazilian international, Robinho, to the Club as they fear Platini could condemn them with severe penalties.
