The ten comebacks
It was only a few weeks ago that we reported on last season's ten biggest failures. The great news is that all ten have won a game before the end of October and some are going really well. Markyate are the pick of the bunch with 7 wins in the South Midlands Division. One curiosity of the their "under repair" website is the big bold headline which proclaims the win at Aston Clinton their first "proper away win". Meanwhile, Marcham, well, go marching on, as they remain undefeated albeit in 4 games.Times are still tough at Cirencester United, who are still being regularly tonked. Adur Athletic are regularly the whipping boys of Worthing & District Premier, but this year they have proved no pushovers. So, well done to "The Ten to Watch".

I am one of the players at Markyate and its great to see us get publicity on your website. Last year was a disaster but the spirit this year is fantastic to be honest and we have really turned things round. I think we should get more publicity if we keep rocking as we are now. FootballCynic writes: This is very good to hear. I think we can safely assume there is no one called Mark Yate that plays for Markyate just as there is no one called Don Caster-Rovers who plays for Doncaster Rovers. However, the author should identify themselves, as you can claim to be the player from the highest placed club in the league pyramid, who has read www.footballcynic.com. We believe Sir Alex Ferguson and Kevin Keegan are avid readers, but we have no confirmation. We could even use it in publicity - www.footballcynic.com as read by Mark Yate of Markyate FC.
