Bubble Bath

There are some people whose knowledge of football ends at the bottom of the Premiership table. FootballCynic believes that some do not even go as far as that. However, if you can scan a little further down, you may have noticed that 1) There is a league called the Blue Square Conference South and 2) It's full of teams from places you see signposted on motorways but never go to unless a relative lives there - Dorchester, Bromley, Worcester, Basingstoke, Bishops Stortford to name a few (yes, OK, Fisher Athletic could be anywhere, but Millwall would be close). This year there are two Baths - Bath City and Team Bath - and two local derbies are on the horizon. Team Bath are a little unusual - they are not a football club but a "sports brand..." that "covers the family of sports and recreation-related activities at the University" if we are to believe their website. As we read on, we learn more "Team Bath has a passion for sport and sports development and a burgeoning national and international reputation for delivering excellence in sport and recreation." Big words, indeed. So, no tittle tattle on their website about who is joining or leaving, but can they survive this higher standard? And, can they climb two more steps so that they can deliver burgeoning excellence against the likes of Hartlepool and Luton Town? FootballCynic will, of course, keep you informed.
