Askern Welfare win at Crufts you might think

Some things pass you by in life but FootballCynic this week took a look at some of the lower league winners and Askern Welfare fared well, it would seem. Their division is packed with interestingly named teams such as Grantham Street Prims, Clipstone WelfareRolls Royce Leisure and, my favourite, Appleby Frodingham. However, this is a rather special league. It's not the lowly Central Midlands Premier Division, we are talking about. It's one above that, it's the Central Midlands Supreme Division. I think the guys at the F.A. have missed a trick. Surely, our top league should have been called the Supremeship rather than the Premiership. Meanwhile, hearty congratulations to Askern Welfare as they are crowned Supreme Champions.
