Real champions

While many getting excited about the final games of the Premiership season, FootballCynic can disappoint all Manchester United fans by informing them that they are supporting, at present, the 65th best team in the country. Yes, that's right 65th. Courtesy of that fantastic website by Tony Kempster (www.tonykempster.co.uk), we can see that Hollington United are the true champions with 19 wins and 1 defeat averaging 2.85 points per game. Old Invincibles, Norton Sports and Daventry United, come in second and third with Mertsham and Portland United completing the top five. At the bottom, sadly it is Adur Athletic from the Worthing and District League who managed one point this campaign. However, FootballCynic's favourite has to be Downton from the Wessex Premier. They finished with a goal difference of -148 having conceded 177 goals in their 44 games. They did, however, secure 6 points on the way. Below, Sir Alex takes the news of being 65th badly.
